skincareGone are te days of pig skin grafts for people who suffer trauma such as accidents and burns that used to be sure ways for one to get ugly scar tissue for researchers have found that bone marrow stem cells are making the healing process faster and better than traditional skin graft methods. The procedure normally had the person’s own skin stretched onto the gaping skin wounds, cut from other less obvious parts of the body. The new research has pig skin treated with the person’s own skin cells then augmented with bone marrow stem cells allowing faster and better healing. Once the skin has begun to grow, it is then grafted onto the person without the pig skin allowing growth of the natural skin without using the pig skin as a substrate making the grafted skin good as new.
