Youthful skin – Really

Posted by Avatar on Aug 10 2010 | Basics, Techniques

youthskin.jpgMoisturizers can be the best solution to preventing aged skin. Many fail to realize that the face, like most parts of the body needs the best protection from pollution, irritants and of course the sun’s harmful rays. Try to get at a regimen that would not only work for you but can be used frequently enough without worrying about damaging your skin. When you get home, clean off all your make-up as much as possible. Cleansers will work as long as they are not too harsh that they strip away the natural lipid protection of your skin that makes it look young. Lipids are actually the natural oil barrier your skin should love rather than hate. Not all oil on your face is bad and stripping away too much can leave it drier as sand on the beach on a hot sunny day.

Water – The body’s natural hydrator

Posted by Avatar on May 10 2010 | Basics, Real-life

water.jpgThe human body has a huge percentage of water which makes up a big percentage of its bulk. No wonder that doctors have long prescribed the daily intake of at least 8 glasses a day which makes sense for, we humans as a climate control measure produce sweat. This process takes out excess salt from the bloodstream (which is a natural dehydrating agent) and out to the skin’s surface where as the water evaporates, cools the skins surface. This evaporation cools the blood running through the capillary blood vessels which returns to the heart and lungs cooling the human body from the inside. With global warming causing more heat waves, it would be wise to have a daily intake of more than the said minimum amount. Less water makes the body shrives thus the age and stress marks so a healthy dose of water would be enough to maintain your body, cooler and younger.

Many cosmetics producers and manufacturers have returned to Nature for their beauty care products. True to this, many products of natural origins are on the market and are being used by thousands all over the world. Nutrition also plays a key part in the longevity and youth of the human body which has nutritionists advocating products that are grown ‘ORGANICALLY’, or products that are grown without the use of fertilizers or pesticides made by man. These produce are allowed to grow naturally using natural fertilizer from other plant materials and pest control using bio-friendly organisms such as lady bugs and more who prey on pest species.

The said plants are loaded with unadulterated natural vitamins and minerals as nature makes it without the stimulants and other plant yield boosting products. Pesticides which have a nasty ability to accumulate inside the body’s cells are void thus delaying if not totally preventing the occurrence of free radicals or chemicals within the cells themselves that causes it to age and subsequently die off.

Beni – Japanese Geisha Lipstick

Posted by Avatar on Nov 21 2009 | History, Techniques

beni.jpgAs it turns out, Geisha or the ultimate entertainers of Japan were truly trendsetters in the arena of beauty not only for their exceptional skills at the Japanese performing arts (they’re not PROSTITUTES). They have been using all-natural make-up for centuries which was taken out of style as Western style lipstick and other beauty products began to flood the market. A Japanese cosmetics firm named Isehan-Honten is ensuing the revival of the all natural make-up that was part of Japanese culture for millennia by releasing the world’s most expensive lipstick. Beni is extracted from orange-petaled safflower which has the peculiar habit of having its most color before the sun rises (so they are picked before the sun rises) in July at Japan’s Yamagata Mountains. They are soaked, steamed to make a compound that turns red when water is applied. Richness of the color can be changed with the amount of water that is applied, ranging from pale pink to rich ruby red. The lipstick costs around 70,000 to 300,000 Japanese Yen which translates to around 335 to almost 1,500 British Pounds!

Summer Fun on the Beach

Posted by Avatar on Oct 09 2009 | Basics, Real-life, people

beach.jpgBeach season again and we’ve all said it again and again, take care of your skin so you don’t get sunburned and look older. Many still ignore the aging effects of the harmful UV rays the sun showers down on the earth which does us some good but too much is known to cause skin cancer plus a myriad of other skin problems. Arm yourself with sunscreen for your body, face and lip balm for your lips to avoid those ugly age lines that once you get them don’t go away so easily. Encourage kids to do the same so they lower their risk of getting skin cancer in later life. Chances of getting it increase if you have had any serious sunburn on your skin when you were a little younger. So take care under the sun.

Chemicals on your skin???? Not on Mine!!!!!

Posted by Avatar on Sep 13 2009 | Basics, Real-life

label.jpgAll women and even some men use beauty products each and everyday, many are unaware that the average woman applies close to two hundred specific chemical compounds on their faces each and every day. Two hundred may be a bit too exaggerated but it’s true, check out th3e ingredients on your make up and you’d get the picture. Also check the labels of soaps, cleansers and other beauty products you use and you may even end up with more. The lowly hair styling gel may contain anything form 2 dozen or more chemical compounds (and you’ll be surprised to know it also contains formaldehyde, you know, the embalming stuff or some derivative of sorts) and that’s just for hair styling. Be sure to check out the labels and also try to go organic, thought they are not as safe as you always think they were as with the previous post. Imagine all those chemicals being absorbed by your skin into the blood and you’d get the picture. If not, you end up becoming a soup of chemicals on the inside and suffer from some unknown disease you don’t even know might have been precipitated by the make-up and beauty products you use on you.
