New Make-up tips from the Experts (Part 1)

Posted by on Mar 21 2008 | Basics, people, Real-life, Techniques

bronzing.jpgFoundations are not concealers and should never be used as such for they only make you look older. All of us have blemishes on our faces and most of us simply want them to disappear. Experts say that using foundations to hide them gives you an older look than you should. Less is best as Lisa Elridge says when it comes to foundations. She also says that black and red dresses look best with well applied lipstick, berry cheeks and neutral eyes. Bronzing powders, pearls and creams will give you that bronze goddess look you have been wanting like your favorite stars from film and cinema.

Beauty Myths – Pimples

Posted by on Mar 17 2008 | Basics, people, Real-life, Techniques

toothpaste.jpgThere are myths circulating out in the thick that putting toothpaste onto an unsightly pimple tends to get it to heal faster. That might be a bit true for most toothpastes have menthol in them which can indeed get them to dry out faster but the many other ingredients you find in them can cause more harm than good so stick to that pimple gel you can get from your local pharmacy. They’ll work better than toothpaste and you don’t end up with your face having a hint of menthol. Over the counter pimple gels work best and can be applied without worrying about complications to your sensitive face but if you’re in a rut (say out in the wild on a hike you do not expect to get out of in the next few hours) dab it on.

Beauty Myths – Varicose Veins and Waxing

Posted by on Mar 13 2008 | Basics, people, Real-life, Techniques

waxing.jpgUnsightly hair, wax it off. That is a common practice of today’s figure conscious women who have more hair than they would want. Blame genetics and hormones all you want but waxing does prevent the growth of more hair even delaying the growth of new ones (for a couple of years that is). So go on waxing those unsightly hairs for the clean and beautiful look you deserve and want. On varicose veins, most agree that crossing your legs increases the probability that one gets these unsightly blood vessels that show through the skin. If one is light skinned they show more prominently but crossing your legs does not in anyway contribute to their formation. Blame your parents or your job for you may have inherited them from them (genetics) or had them form due to long times spent standing up in your job.

Natural Minerals and other natural stuff

Posted by on Mar 05 2008 | Basics, Real-life, Techniques

organic.jpgThere are new types of make-up that use natural ingredients such as minerals that have been ground so fine into powder form which not only make your skin look better, they also nourish the skin while you’re wearing them. Technique when applying make-up is what counts and not the price. As you do with your face (make-up), do the same with your hair and get a re-do of your style at the same time. Remember, the more up to date your do and your make-up looks the younger you are and it beats the old norm of having a look that is the embodiment of you. It brings change to you and to others who may see you even giving an extra spark to that decade old marriage of yours. Feel good about yourself which may be better than all the make-up on earth by thinking that you are who you are and accepting it all, beauty and flaws.

Breasts or the lack thereof (Part 2)

Posted by on Feb 29 2008 | people, Real-life

breast2.jpgGoing to the beach, not to worry, there are swimsuits that have similar built-in features (built-in means they don’t fall out when you stoop down to reach for something which spares you the embarrassment). For sagging breasts, there are cosmetic procedures that remove flaps of skin allowing a tighter figure. This condition usually occurs in people who have lost a lot of weight which leaves skin hanging down. They are also common in elderly people who can also get the same procedures done in no time.
All the fuss for that perfect silhouette every woman loves, which is no wonder the cosmetic surgery industry is a booming one. Just be sure to go to properly trained and referred cosmetic surgeons so you don’t endanger yourself from complications.

Breasts or the lack thereof (Part 1)

Posted by on Feb 25 2008 | people

breast.jpgMost women are unhappy with the size of their breasts, unevenly shaped, sometimes too large or too saggy but most of the time it’s the lack of it that makes up most of the insecurities they have about their looks. To alleviate such problems, several options in the arena of cosmetic surgery have been put in place to help women with their needs. Brest enlargements through implants have long been a common breast augmentation procedure but recent incidents and even fatalities have weighted down their popularity by a great deal. A better option may be to use breast augmentation bra’s that have either bags of air or fluid that help make the breasts look larger under clothes.

Hair – It’s all in the hair

Posted by on Feb 05 2008 | Basics, Real-life

hs2.jpgCeleb’s have long known that the way your hair looks can make the difference between looking your true age and looking a lot younger that you really are. The way you color, trim and carry your hair is evident as one of the most important beauty secrets as many Hollywood celebrities know. Check out the celebrities who have the now in short cut hair. It also allows you to focus more on your assets which can be highlighted by clothing and hair styles. For a thin skinny face, choose short hair, for rounded face shapes choose flowing or curled hair to highlight more of your facial assets. Hair is also used to hide unsightly facial features such as moles and other blemishes though overdoing it can damage and create too much of a hidden look.

Posted by on Jan 05 2008 | people, Real-life

beauty5.jpg
Beauty Queens have always been expected to be perfect/flawless on stage and off. But these people have to learn the works from some of the most successful queens like those who have gone into the celebrity bandwagon and made their mark. Most of them would admit that failure was always an ever present threat to their careers, and some say they miss mostly the privacy they used to have. Some love it and some learn to love it and that’s the way to go. Don’t mind the camera, just be you wherever you may be. If you do have bad habits, don’t worry, they’ll get out soon enough and they sure do. Most celebrities have had this problem but what matters is how you stand the test of time which is no constant like everything else.
